I'm not sure "British soap's first lesbian character" is quite correct.

I don't know about that.

Anna Friel’s character in Brookside was a lesbian, I don’t know who came first though.

Seems Zoe Tate was the first character to come out as lesbian in the summer of 1993 whereas the Brookside kiss happened in January 1994.

Could have worded that better...

It was Emmerdale first and Brookside later that year.

Mandy's flashback scenes in tonight's Emmerdale were very... strange 😂 Was like an episode of Hustle.

A deliberate choice, I'm sure, since she basically was hustling that casino.

Interesting also to see how ITV3 Emmerdale still has a burned in cue dot at this point when most other shows had stopped that several years earlier. Did Yorkshire not have a way of generating it live or something, or just preferred to burn it into the programme?

Was strange yesterday seeing Sarah telling Robert that she was pregnant with Victoria, when we know that Robert will end up going to prison for Victoria 26 years later.

I've noticed the last few episodes have ended with the alternate theme music they only previously used on episodes that ended with the lead up music over the final scene.

We're not far off from them bringing back the original version of the theme tune over the end credits at the start of 1994 either. Or the "new" opening titles (which were just a re-edit of footage from the 1989 and 92 ones).
