Could have been technical limits of the previous system that forced their hand as opposed to what the BBC were doing, after all down the history of the two services CITV has often been behind CBBC in some regard, such as live presentation (two years behind), a website of some sort (about three years) and their own branded channel (about four years).

I thought the common wisdom was that the main driver for CITV going to live continuity was the introduction of the same on the BBC?
