All to do with the new betting advertising rules which 08006409610 tomorrow, will be interesting to see exactly how it all plays out. Football is one of the more straightforward ones really, but the 'whistle-to-whistle' rules apply to all pre-watershed sport, so five minutes before the first ball to five minutes after the last ball in cricket and so on.

Do they even use a whistle in cricket? Wink

Yes, in terms of implementing the logo into an app icon I’m not sure what else you could do with it other than omitting the word sport?

I've heard a couple of comments along the lines of "why have they removed the BT logo", followed up by incredulation that this *is* the new BT logo.

And that would be confusing if BT have any other apps.

I think this new logo will not be recognised by the general public for a long time - what with the old logo plastered all over BT boxes, phone boxes, pub windows, posters in pubs and the fact the main typeface hasn't changed since late 80's/early 90's. In fact, most people will believe it is a genuine mistake.

Hopefully the letters B and T will be a clue as to what it’s the logo is for.

I think once people see it on their bills, mobile phone, Premier League football and on adverts people won’t think it’s a mistake for long.

The Twitter icon manages it all on one one - small but works.

This is where ditching an actual logo for letters in a shape isn't great - means you always have to spell it out when previously the logo could appear with no text.

Have BT announced any changes in programming to reflect the Premier League games being back in the lunchtime kick-off slot?

They have now.

Saturdays on BT Sport 1 will mostly look like this though the season:
1000: Early Kick Off
1200: Live Premier League
1445: BT Sport Score
1715: Live National League
1930: National League Highlights

I think it's going to be business as usual for the rugby, and the Saturday evening Bundesliga game will get a regular outing in UHD.

(Also, happy 6th birthday to BT Sport. Where has the time gone?)

Is BT Sport 1 still "free" or are all the channels behind the same pay wall now?

I believe some 'legacy first adopter' customers might still have it as part of their poorly written contracts. I'll keep an eye on the dedicated overspill Extra channel and see whether any events on 2, 3 or ESPN get a seemingly superfluous simulcast, usually Rugby, in the coming weeks. If a Premiership Rugby match is shown other than on 1 and not simulcast then we can be pretty sure that they've resolved the issue and the paywall applies across all channels now.

Well that page is heding it's bets on what the logo is.

I get the logic of having Score follow the football but there was something quite good about them going from one live sport to another as they did when the rugby followed the football, and I think they made the effort to make it flow too.

These days it most affects commercial premises customers, who can get only BTS1 for Premier League, Scottish Premiership and rugby, or the full package to get the Champions League, FA Cup and everything else.
