Exhibit A, M'lud..

Thank you for this. If you didn't think my contributions to this thread could get much duller, the clips from Pops come from the show of 5th September 1997, which is the last episode I ever missed because I'd gone out and put the tape on, and it was shoved over to BBC2 at the last minute for Diana-related reasons, and there was no repeat. So those were the only parts of that episode I'd ever seen.

Also a brief clip of the awful re-recorded phone jingle for Live and Kicking that year, though I think the full thing has since surfaced on YouTube.

Disaster behind the scenes, things not ready, lots of panic and swearing etc.

Relatively clean and straight forward run of the mill, compared to the Talking Telephone Numbers clip anyway. Fascinating.

A bit of Dailymotion Gold. The entire series of Calendar Countdown, the Yorkshire-only regional precursor to Countdown, has been uploaded. Here's the first episode, and click through to the rest of the channel to watch them all - if you dare.

The first episode continues the shoddiness of the unbroadcast pilots with the theme tune and clock music being played at the same time.

Thanks for this - fascinating stuff.

I find the PA's counting to the dance absolutely fascinating - it's not in time at all..!

Back in the day, there used to be the end of the 2006 programme on YouTube with talkback but that has been long since deleted.

There's no footage of the UK TV coverage of Apollo 11, but the BBC coverage of Apollo 13's re-entry does exist and it's some of the most tense, dramatic TV ever.

As the captions suggest these clips aren't real time, it's a cut down presumably from some documentary. The original live coverage doesn't seem to have made the re-entry onto the internet (I have seen it)

The directing is superb. Not much is being said and for most of the time not much is happening on the live pictures, so we see the presenters and experts in the studio motionless, watching and waiting, biting nails and with crossed fingers

Starts at about 3:50
