Yorkshire Look North (Yorkshire)

What does that mean?

I presume that means the picture is shrunken into a box to allow space for the sign language interpreter.

Surely it being shrunken doesn't mean it ceases being in HD? Confused

If you reduce the size, you reduce the resolution, so it won’t be full HD, although at the size they use, it’ll still be better than SD.

The Open graphics over the BBC Newsline titles are awful. It's clear they had this planned before Reith was announced as launching 15th July so we aren't getting the new look yet. It makes the programme not even look like it's a news programme. I hope once the new look launches they finally get rid of the constant BBC Newsline DOG on screen all the time.

Perhaps someone from BBC NI or NI could shed some light on the constant Newsline DOG? As far as I can remember getting into TV pres it's been there in one guise or another. Do the good people of NI need to know they're watching BBC News?

Even going through the examples of previous graphics on YouTube and other sites shows a consistent theme - badly designed redraws of their original, externally produced graphics, poor typography, frankly absurd headline graphics circa 2002 (because Ulster needs an 'explosion' in every headline sequence post 'ceasefire') along with really loose spacing between the letters in the titles at the time... They make BBC Channel Islands' grahpics people look talented.
Oh it's such a perfect day, I'm glad I spent it with you...

I feel the same about the nations opening titles not being consistent with the regions. I know what Scotland looks like, I don’t need to see a map and would far rather have a proper rebrand like the English regions.

I'm pretty sure it only came about in 2008 with the white rebrand.

The 2008 white look has stood the test of time, if you ask me. They might be far from fresh, but they're contemporary enough compared to some of the overseas broadcasters — even 11 years after they were made.
