I do hope there's a mention of the new look at the end of the 10pm bulletin tonight

Unless there is going to be a change in the look of Studio E and the overall design I doubt it. Remember in 1999 there was no mention at all I think of the move from the virtual studio of 1993 to the new corporate look of May 1999, so don't expect anything mentioned tonight.

Changing the font and the lower thirds won't warrant an announcement, too much is being made of this change I think. In 1999 there were actually trailers for the new look.

Yes, like this one:

Wow. Simple, yet effective.

The mix-through to the titles is seamless.

They've been like that some days, see the other thread in The Newsroom.

Not sure I like it. But will give it a fair shot!

And if memory serves me, didn't they just do teasers with the clock and the music without the titles?

Side note - the cut of the titles in that trail weren't quite the finished article. You can note some of the elements simply stop animating when the rest of a frame carries on. The final version seen on screen were a bit more polished. Still love the blend of 3D model and physical model that made those titles (AIUI some if not all of the globe elements were real).

I know Breakfast is getting reithed on Tuesday, but could the regional news on Breakfast be reithed tomorrow?

The difference in 1999 was that the format of the bulletins changed, it was a bigger deal worth promoting

Exactly, pretty much everything changed, it wasn't just a few graphics changing like it will be tomorrow. I think some people here need to put things into perspective.
