I don’t think I ever remember reading it, but did we ever find out how the reflective effect worked?!

Shame they’ve lost the magical light illusion podiums.
Though of course they would just be the same colour this time around.

I don't think there was ever any reasonable explanation provided as to how that light effect was achieved. It was certainly different depending on the angle of view. Quite clever.

I appreciate that those pictures are from 2015 and 2017, but I think the podiums were the same on each occasion.

Worth noting that BBC Breakfast were live from the ITV set this morning, which was partially lit up. Not sure if GMB were also doing any broadcasts from the set, though I guess for the BBC it helped that the debate was taking place in Salford, presumably only a short walk from their Breakfast studio.

Ranvir was there this morning. Couple of sound problems between her and London and it got a bit awkward.

Dominic Grieve's amendment wasn't selected in the end, so it's no longer such a vital occasion.
It's as if you were worrying over nothing.

Yes - and there are permanent BBC circuits between Dock 10 and the BBC facilities in Quay House.

And, as I noted in the UTV thread, the UTV logo is alongside the STV and ITV logos in the background.

I believe there’s just a simple led strip towards the bottom of the podium which because of the floor reflects it a lot more. The front side of the podium where the colour is isn’t lit so the effect doesn’t disappear. Never noticed that at the time though
