Yeah I didn’t make the point very well but what I am saying is Sky seem to be behind the times closing channels, no hdr/HLG yet other platforms are trying these things already got channels out there hell they tried 8k on 13e only two weeks ago so what are Sky doing, diddly!

Part of the "problem" might be the legacy hardware they have to support.
It might only be SkyQ that can handle 8k and HDR/HLG and Sky+HD and Sky+ boxes (legacy boxes which make up the majority of the subscriber base) have no and probably never will have support for anything other than HD.

Already reported elsewhere on this website, Chelsea TV has closed down on Sky Digital. It's still available on demand on the club website, and their app.

It’s still on the Guide and can be viewed without subscription (unsure if it’s FTV or FTA), however the Sky off-air music that must be going on 20 years old now is playing over a static caption advising Chelsea TV is no longer available on Sky.

I wonder if broadcasters will stop giving goals in football matches using VAR until they have been verified - to save having to correct the scoreboard and send correction push notifications.

I have a feeling it's a host broadcaster decision.

I've no problem with the referee's signal that a Goal has been 'scored' triggering the addition of a goal to the score. However there's clearly metadata provided from the VAR control centre that triggers the lower left graphic. Maybe that should trigger the score indicator to reset, as a matter of course. maybe changing it's colour or background colour until the score is confirmed and then readded or invalidated, before restoring the score indicator to inplay conditions.

It'll be interesting to see how MOTD deal with it for the Premier League when of course they already know the outcome of the VAR decision.

The BBC’s scorebar is generated by them.

It is, but I had the impression they were slaved to the host's (mainly due to the clunky way they were displaying additional time).

Besides, the clock on the world feed does the same - skip forward to 28 minutes in this match to see a goal go in and displayed immediately, despite the VAR check: www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/p07bg4kq

Following my post yesterday, about Chelsea TV closing down on Sky Digital, but staying on the club website, it's now left the EPG on Sky Digital.

Interesting that’ll be available in Ireland, even though Amazon’s matches won’t (or rather they’ll be on Premier Sports instead).

Good chance Gabby Logan will be fronting some of them then. Guess it's a weeks work at most.
