No surprise Graham Stanier won’t appear either, he always found the show indefensible. Well at least he’s never been able to defend it.

Really insightful stuff there. “Family units are made up of family unit”.

His PR team advise to keep his head down and stay out of the spotlight for as long as he can if he wants to resurrect any sort of a television career. He will only appear at any inquiry of he is forced to do so, he was not forced to go to this one.

Broadcasters might not want the publicity of employing someone being censored by the Commons (As this might eventually progress to).

Yeah, and I guess his appearance would lead to ITV being shut down.

Judge Rinder is a dressed-up game show - it isn't binding arbitration, and never could be, because the only thing ever awarded is the production company's money (treated for tax purposes as prize money). Robert Rinder's involvement is (or, at least, was initially) contingent on using the show as an avenue to better educate the public on the application of legal principles. There's absolutely nothing "legal" to prevent him giving prize money to whoever he wants.

It's not "prize money" and it isn't a game show by any stretch of the imagination - "key this car for a chance to appear in front of Judge Rinder", yeah right.

Yes it might be money that comes out of the programme budget (but Judge Judy is the same) but the show pays for it in exchange for the right to film the case and use it in the programme. In exchange for this you agree to waive the right to take the issue to a magistrate's court or appeal or whatever.

If that's the case, then it should be taxable income - which is not how it's reported or treated by the production company.

No, you don't. That may be true of Judge Judy (I've no idea whether it is or not), but it certainly isn't true on Judge Rinder.

"key this car for a chance to appear in front of Judge Rinder"

You're right that you wouldn't get on the programme for that: it would (usually) be criminal damage and they don't do criminal cases.

You mean censured, right?

Or rather, a new series of 'The Kyle Files' and maybe a return of 'Jeremy Kyle's Emergency Room', so just existing JK series which have no reference to Jeremy Kyle show whatsoever!

Judge Rinder gets the 9.25am slot from Monday 1st July. Dickinson's Real Deal at 2pm. Tenable back to 3pm.

That's much closer to Kyle and will probably see the ratings improve. At least, that's what ITV hope.

Presumably they've got some new episodes of Rinder to show in the early slot?
