ITV abandons the South Bank

Interesting how that warehouse in the pic on Twitter was replaced by that nice landscaped grassy bit (and what is now Gabriel’s Wharf, of course, which must have been named after the warehouse going by the 1952 map).

Anyone able to date this shot?

Most of the pictures definitely have a 2001 look (Elton's got the classic flesh tone), though the low angle is trickier to tell because of all the flare and the blooming on the mic stand. (Could an EMI 2001 do that shot even on a different mounting to a normal ped?)

It could have been a low angle 2001 possibly, take a look at 1:20 here, on this Thames tech video

A rather bleak looking place.

It's actually a really nice office, or at least it was when Skype were there. Not sure what the extent of the renovations that ITV have made are, but it doesn't look a million miles off how it previously was.

The BBC had a reporter outside ITV HQ last week when the Jeremy Kyle story first started and it looked like one of the old law chambers buildings that are in that part of London. Not like a meeja place at all

The front is very ornate and houses "Du Vere Holborn Bars". One thing that has been housed here recently is the Grenfell Inquiry.
The ITV bit is set a bit further back from the entrance arch and in a more modern office development (formerly home to Skype as mentioned). And whilst it isn't the LWT tower with all the history that's attached to it, it is (I would argue) a nicer place to work - bigger, open plan floors and you can actually get in and out of the building in less than 10 mins as the lifts actually do the job.

It’s an old Prudential building and was therefore built in their rather unique style. I think it’s quite attractive and I’m led to believe the completely refurbished interior is a very pleasant place to work.
