The contestants thought the COW was used when Strictly Come Dancing launched and the Balloon was used in 2012! Rolling Eyes

Ouch. That hurts.

Would be a good Pointless question: "We're going to show you 5 BBC One logos, can you tell us when they first appeared on screen?"

If they all score 0 then it would really hurt.

On Pointless, it's scoring 100 that would really hurt. Scoring zero means they got it right.

Yes but scoring 0 means the "100 people" who were asked got them all wrong as well.

You can actually get a 100-point correct answer.

I've never seen that.

Even if the question was "Former Businessman turned US President (DT)" it'd score about 92

Never underestimate the general public when it comes to public surveys for gameshows. Family Fortunes proved that ages ago with the occasional answer up on the board that no sane person would usually come up with in a month of Sundays.

Mine you a lot of the time the contestants aren't much better either...

Would any normal person have a good reason to retain such information?

We're passionate and enthusiastic about idents, most people don't really notice... It's a bit like asking "in what year did the font on the PG tips nutritional information grid change from aerial to helvetica?"

It's absurd.

People will remember the timings of idents a lot better than you give them credit for. Plus I doubt many would deduce that Line of Duty (for example) aired at the time when they used the bat wings logo.

One man's knowledge is another's "full of useless information". It works for Mastermind, specialist subject "BBC TV presentation packages 1966-2017".

Perhaps there should be a Pointless pres special with TV Forumers representing this site?

BBC would be forced not to use Oneness to introduce the programme.
