Jacob Rees-Mogg was one of the launch presenters of 5 News.

Not that far fetched when you consider Michael Gove (who is still a journalist of course) co-presented a late night satire show with David Baddiel

Austin Mitchell (Yorkshire Television, 1969-77)

Jonathan Aitkin was also a reporter at Yorkshire for the first couple of years, according to Wikipedia he was the first person on the station

Anna Soubry and Ben Bradshaw were also broadcast journalists before moving in to politics.

Though Anna Soubury's media career was best known (outside the Midlands at least)for her slot reviewing the weeks soap operas on This Morning

Chris Grayling and Damien Green are both ex BBC News journalists. They were both involved with "Business Live" on Channel 4 at one point with Hugh Pym who himself was a Liberal Democrat candidate in 2001.

Wow, that's a very 1991 clip.

Anyone know who the continuity announcer is at the start? I don't recognise him.

Interesting that Simon makes reference to the announcer's introduction ('eight delicious weeks').

And before anyone asks "why didn't they ask Reeta Chakrabarti", She's been involved in the same Election rehearsals as Huw.
