International News Presentation: Past and Present

France 3 is what sprung to mind for me as well.

Speaking of NHK, here's a 1988 feature with several old NewsCenter 9 intros (starts at 1:25). NC9 was NHK's first American-style newscast:

The ITA/IBA system in the UK saw numerous franchise changes with one station replacing another. Such occurrences were rare in the United States, but there were a few exceptions. In 1982, Boston's CBS affiliate WNAC lost its license because of financial wrongdoings by its parent company. It was replaced by a brand-new station, WNEV, also a CBS affiliate and also on channel 7, but owned by a different company and with an entirely new on-air team.

WNEV began its transmissions on its first day on the air with an introduction to the new station:



And this is what its first newscast looked like:

They had nicely branded news product and the anchor team was really good. Authoritative but easy-going style without being too casual. Really nice combination for 1982. Of course WNEV was the precursor to WHDH the sister station to WSVN Miami.
The videos shows how the influence of WSVN was slowly bought in over the years after it was bought by Sunbeam the owner of WSVN.

WXTV Univision 41 New York unveiled a new set on April 24th, debuting during their 6 o'clock news (Noticias 41 A Las Seis) as well as being the station to debut the new Univision O&O Station Graphics.

Interestingly, another Boston station, WCVB, was awarded its license in 1972 after its predecessor was denied renewal by the FCC. Here is a video from 1982 about WCVB's first years on the air (with an emphasis on its local news):

If you can unearth a book by Peggy Lamson called 'Stay Tuned' , it's a very readable history of the first fifteen years or so of WCVB - call letters picked as they were easy to type, it's been suggested;-)

A news intro from 2010 on Tanzanian channel ITV (the initials mean the same thing as for the British ITV).

Over in New Zealand, TVNZ Breakfast presenter Jack Tame has left the show after two and a half years, to move to Sunday night political show 'Q&A'. He is being replaced by previous Three and Radio New Zealand presenter, John Campbell.

RSI, the Italian language Swiss broadcaster, recently gave their Telegiornale news bulletins a brand new look and a brand new set.
With an innovative moving desk similar to France 2.
