I always thought four anchors for that show was a mistake and just unnecessary more than anything. Saying that, what I've seen of Bianna has been impressive.

From that article it seems to suggest only Gayle King will be left at CBS This Morning in the long run. Too much change too soon worries me. Norah O'Donnell is great in that position and while moving her to anchor the Evening News might be a promotion, I worry they're jeopardising the morning show. I also fear that the Evening News would remain underperforming and Norah's been moved for little reason.

I don't see why they'd scrap Bianna because four anchors is too much, only to then also move the rest of the team bar-one.

This is what CBS does every few years they blow up their morning show and since Dan Rather the Evening News.

While that may have been true, CBS This Morning and CBS Evening News under Scott Pelley were successful to an extent to the point where things were improving for them. However, CBS kept tinkering with what was working (combined with other issues) and got to this point.

Adding a fourth presenter wasn't needed so it's a good move to revert back to just three. Does that news not indicate that Norah won't be taking over the CBS Evening News, as surely she would have to be replaced where you could have just kept Bianna on.

I'm not sure if this thread is used for The View, it is part of ABC News decision now so I guess it can be used. Anyway, this is a fascinating look into the behind the scenes drama of the show and US daytime tv in general.

Listen to Elisabeth Hasselbeck Quit ‘The View’ After a Fight With Barbara Walters (EXCLUSIVE AUDIO)

So much drama happening during one commercial break and when they come back everything is perfect again. Elizabeth overreacted but Barbara sure knew how to keep them in check. Very Happy

Well it is Barbara's show but it's great to hear what went on behind the scenes. I'm guessing that never leaked at the time?

Elisabeth recently returned to The View as a guest.

All sorts of The View dirt is coming out now in this new book. Rosie said she had a crush on Elizabeth which upset Hassleback who commented on it during her recent visit to the show. Rosie also said working with Whoopi was the worst thing ever. Who knows what else will come out....

I suppose that sort of thing is inevitable when you concentrate so many egos into one small space...

True, but its still is a highly successful programme that has spawned a global genre of daytime womens chat programmes. And its genrally a highly watchable programme because of the panelists strongly held views.

By the sounds of it, if Barbara was a man in charge of a show like this, this same show would be calling for that man to apologise or be axed in this 'Me Too / Times Up' movement. I know Barbara left years a go but you get my point.

Well, of course. As you say, it always makes better TV when they do have fire in their bellies, even if that does lead to some nasty clashes behind the scenes. Personally, I always loved The Simpsons' take on those kinds of programmes:

After Barbara left the show struggled for a few years. Rosie's comeback didn't work out well, there was tension between her and Whoopi and it was bound to explode but Rosie's sudden departure prevented it. After that they had a string of bland, boring women with no interesting views who brought nothing to the show.

Joy coming back and then Meghan MacCain joining really brought the show back to the headline-making event it used to be. Its ratings are also rising and doing very well again.
