Not many answers but some surmising....

Ok Question for the international sports experts out there.

Right now, it's 'Spring Training' (pre-season friendlies) season for the MLB (Major League Baseball) which takes place in Texas and Florida.

Texas? Arizona. < /coogan >

Watching one of the games this morning on BTS/ESPN, set me thinking. Given there are a multiple teams, and each team has their own 'aligned' tv station/network showing away game coverage, each have their usual home graphics/score box (i.e NESN branded graphics for Boston Red Sox, Fox Sports Brewers graphics for Milwaukee ect ).

With the amount of teams playing games, its obviously not cost effective to drive several different OB Scanners, and graphics units down south, and rig up for each game. So how is this done?

Is it the case that a locally based OB provider, supply a 'clean' feed of the game from whichever stadium, that signal (with comms) are then sent back to where each teams channel is based, where the graphics are added in locally?
Or would the graphics be provided via a score datastream, and then the house style channel skin is added on site?

Not all ST games are shown on TV mind. Some barely make it onto radio. The SF Giants ,my team, are a notable example of this. Also some teams share stadiums with others. I imagine some networks - particularly in-house / team-owned ones like NESN, MASN, YES and SportsnetLA - decamp entirely with the team - after all if you're moving everything else....

And bonus question - as MLB administer the international rights, here in the UK, everything we see is sent from the stadium, then to the teams own channel, then to MLB master control in New York, then by fibre to BT Sport at Here East. Or, a route slightly more direct?

As we routinely see bottom-thirds, tickers etc that are *not* seen for example on the MLB.TV feed of the same game, I would imagine it's a straight dirty simulcast of the channel's output.

Yep, if it's on the likes of NBC Sports, Fox, YES, NESN and so on it'll be a dirty feed of the channel output. The exception is ESPN, who send a semi-clean feed without bugs and tickers and with commercial breaks covered with black.

MLB's world feed is used on BT for the World Series, though.

NBC Sports is going to apparently pump some more money into their regional sports networks. And NBC Sports Philadelphia was the first channel to get a sparkly expansive new set. (Keep in mind the Comcast is HQ'd in Philly)
The new set is pretty impressive and quite large. Its been designed by NBC go to set design Jack Morton. And the flawless lighting design was done by LDG (Light Design Group). As usual NBC ensure their set lighting is always on point. I love the airy feeling it has of being several stories up in skyscraper. The light flooring sections and the warm wood section succeeds in breaking up the potential bowling alley feel this narrow space could have. The oversized but subtle NBC peacock logo in stainless steel toward the back of the set is genius IMO.
According to Newscastudio this is going to the the studio's (or a version) rolled out to the other regional sports networks. This set certainly has a national sports network quality. And apparently they are readying another production area later in the year. Good look for NBC Sports in tying the regional networks to the mothership NBCSN.

BeIN making the most of it with a ticker running across all non-live coverage (including pre/post match coverage) and showing the following when coming back from breaks.

Split screen stats again being used by BeIN on their Europa League final coverage last night, they have 6 (plus 4K channel as well) showing the Champions League final so I'm sure will do this on Saturday too on one of the channels:

Can't say I'm taken by the new Serie A logo, though I guess it's no worse than what's come before it:

I’m confused as to why they are changing it again for the second season running. I liked last year’s graphics.
