Could UKTV be scrapped?

To allow concentration on a Netflix rival... (September 2018)

If the channels are split 6 to BBC and 4 to Discovery, would it be:
BBC (Gold, Dave, Drama, W, Alibi & Really)
Discovery (Good Food, Eden, Yesterday & Home)

Are Discovery just after the programmes and the EPG slots? Otherwise this doesn't really make sense, as they already operate similar channels in the UK (Food Network, Animal Planet, Discovery History, Discovery Home & Health).
There's a lot of duplication if Good Food, Eden, Yesterday & Home are simply absorbed into the Discovery fold.

Their USP is their access to the BBC back catalogue - but in a post-UKTV world, will that continue and, if it does, does that need to be on standalone channels.

Would expect a bit of a shuffle would have to happen eventually with some brands disappearing.

Freeview LCN Ch 99 (Com 7): Yesterday+1

Possibly another sweetener for Discovery by acquiring another LCN and slot on Freeview to acquire Yesterday as part of the factual portfolio of UKTV.
Quest are currently advertising for James May The Reassembler. It will premiere on Quest next Tuesday; the 4th of December. As I recall that series was shown last year on BBC Four. One of the episodes involved building a Flying Scotsman train kit with coaches and track.

Understand that an announcement is likely this month. Discussions surrounding international licencing of BBC Natural History (NHU) content including Attenborough works seemingly having been delayed and detailed. Reports (Telegraph and FT - Paywalled) suggesting that as part of the BBC Consideration for their share, a multi year BBC NHU international streaming sub-licence with Discovery has been agreed.
