The carpet from the riser by the media wall/interview area has been removed (seen in the video above).

Piers is apparently off to the states for 4 weeks, so it sounds like he’ll return on the Oscars special, then be back in London the following week. Morgan must have one of the best arrangements in TV, taking extended school holidays and time off in-between.

To be fair he is normally meeting serial killers.

He has what is called the "Johnny Carson of TV deals" with ITV. The famous talk show host, host of the Tonight Show from 1962-1992 had a spat with NBC management in 1979 and by 1980 desperate to keep him, caved in to all of his demands and he got the best deal in US television.

Johnny wrangled out of NBC only to have to work three days a week for 37 weeks of the year for $25 million salary and rights to all of his archive and the right to decide what show should air after his Tonight Show. Now that is a deal!

Piers management has done a similar thing with ITV who understand how much Piers is needed for GMB and they caved in to his demands.

You take it while you can

Eamonn Holmes used to get 3 months off for summer, now he works every week in summer

It's worth noting that when Eamonn went down to four days a week on GMTV, it was not at his request. It was a deliberate effort by Martin Frizell to make the programme less reliant on him, with the intention of replacing him altogether. Eamonn had not long signed a contract at that point, and GMTV were obliged to continue to pay him for five days.

Do you know this for a fact or are you presuming? The bosses could equally believe the show will be just fine without Morgan for all we know.

Yesterday the show got just under 800k, which is good by GMB’s own standards. It’ll be interesting to see how this compares to next week with Susanna and Charlotte/Kate.

Does seem GMB have moved away now from using guest hosts and relying on the team they have where possible.

For people who are interested in 'Technical Difficulties':
Problems with the 6am opening - animations stopped and titles started to play, but cut to a black screen half way through.

There was also a new Breaking News sting at 7:52am. It was in the style of the 'The Conversation Continues..." break bumper.

GMB put out these pointless polls every day. I don't think there's anything massively wrong with this question, compared to the other nonsense they ask you to vote on.
