According to the TV Studio history website, the final series of Double Dare was recorded at Elstree- so very separated from the rest of Going Live.

Actually I've just spotted that Double Dare was resurrected by Nickelodeon last year.

With a 1987 episode (with the silly name of Super Sloppy Double Dare for some reason):
The American versions of them gave cash prizes away as is the norm on kids shows there but as we don't do that, presumably we got goodie packs and toys and things like that.

The Commentators. (whisper) A TVS Production from 1989.
(a young looking) David Bobin talks about Brian Moore to Brian Moore.
Plenty of good archive clippage and stories about his career upto that point.
Buried down in the links, further episodes featuring Brough Scott (worth it alone for the story of the race he had at Newton Abbot when he was a professional jockey) and Reg Gutteridge.

Well, it certainly was pre-recorded, but in the early days they did try and make it look like it was live - you note the set is extremely similar to the Going Live set, and Peter Simon would be in the Going Live studio most weeks doing bits and bobs, including linking Saturday Starts Here before it. But later in the run it was pretty much self-contained and the sets looked very different. Of course it would be repeated on its own during the summer holidays.
The Run The Risk set was decorated with the Marvel/superhero cartoon imagery that adorned the Going Live set from the 1992/3 series that it debuted. Curiously this was never updated when Live and Kicking launched and hung on until the final series in 1996/7...
(on a similar subject - the golden backdrop to the final Going Live titles was reused as the backdrop to the original Live and Kicking titles, which meant it lasted in one guise or another until 2000!)
Yes- because it was probably closer to Easter than Christmas when it was recorded!

I can't remember what it was on - it might have been Take Two, but there was a segment on Run the Risk and featured the producer at the time talking about how the original set was bland and Marvel / Superhero imagery was added overnight, hours before recording began.

I suspect that package would have been made with a single camera, they'll have had to mock up some parts of it to retake from different angles etc, which would have been easier to do in a suite that isn't on air.

A Song for Europe 1991 with Terry Wogan one Friday evening.
A very grand affair with a very elaborate studio set up. The stage built that it's overhanging over an orchestra pit. Not quite sure if health and safety would allow this kind of set up nowadays.
Also look out for the very perfectly timed ending to the show at 1:00:20. With a Production credit which would also most likely caused for some very colourful language on talkback during that final sequence.
Eitherway it could very much be argued that A Song for Europe that year was a much better and slicker production than the contest itself from Italy which was an utter shambles.

Was the EBU deadline later back then (and the contest generally a bit earlier, sometimes pushed into the end of April?) Nowadays everything has to be "in the can" by mid-March. Im guessing therefore Good Friday would have been pushing it for the British National Final on several occasions?
To answer elsewhere - Yes, there was a mix of TOTP and Lottery specials in the 90s. Gina G was chosen by.TOTP in 96, Katrina was chosen on the Lottery in 97. Think 98 might have been a more elaborate affair - I remember a VT with Katrina showing off the NIA.
Couldn't tell you how we picked after that, only that Making Your Mind Up came after Jemini. That got rebranded Eurovision Your Decision at some point. Then it was 2 years of Your Country Needs You, four years of internal then as of this year 4 years of Eurovision You Decide.
