Boris Johnson got called off as deluded by Beth Rigby on Sky News.

She also remarked on her comments that TM should ride off on her unicorn out to Brussels with nothing in return.

Anyone got the clip of it?

At least someone's saying it how it is.

Yep, when history looks back at this period, the news media will be seen as having failed at its job.

The BBC could have switched the football to BBC2 whose viewership would probably have moved to see the conclusion of the match.

But they couldn't in this instance. At 21:59 BBC 2's programme was still showing its closing credits, over on BBC 1 there was intense activity. As I said previously, there was no opportunity to do a graceful overlap between 1 and 2, and any gap in the football would have been unacceptable.

You were saying?

Uh, I was saying what ? This time there was an overlap between 1 and 2, No Drama (as the ITV break bumpers say)

They created an overlap they could have done the same last time

Not before 21:59:30 they couldn’t ( were you actually flicking between 1 and 2 that evening ?) If they had delayed the news for a minute or two then they could have done, but that’s apparently a treasonable offence.

The news didn't start at dead on 10 last night so they could have had an overlap between 21:59:30 and 22:00:15 and started the news at about 22:00:45

Ben Bland started the day off for us on College Green, with the 0500am edition of The Briefing on BBC World News, passing the baton to Geeta Guru-Murthy. Busy news day ahead.

I'd imagine we will join The Real McCoy at some point, and probably Philippa Thomas and Christian Fraser too at some point.

Exciting day ahead for television news junkies. Again.

Good luck to us All, whatever be the outcome of today's vote.

Usually on these days coverage remains split until 18:00 so it is unlikely that Simon will appear on World. The NC has so far seen Ben Bland, Dan Walker, Norman Smith and Annita McVeigh at Westminster this morning and it is likely that Simon and Huw will be there this afternoon and then Christian will probably be on both the NC and World from 18:00, and there is a possibility that someone will be on location for Newsday this evening.
For some reason the NC didn't show business live this morning despite the majority of the 08:30 half hour of breakfast focussing on an interview with Jessica Hynes about some new drama.
