Notable that lost shows claims that 2 episodes of the 1994 series are missing... even though Challenge showed all 180.

Though they also say episodes of Bullseye and Family Fortunes that Challenge have shown are missing too (Challenge definately showed all 26 episodes of Series 4 of Family Fortunes even though that site says two only exist on VHS). Not sure how reliable that site is any more. Other stuff from other shows it says are "missing" are listed as held by the BFI on broadcast formats as well, even if the original companies somehow don't have the tapes.

There seems to be a few people now who think “not on YouTube = lost”

You'd think Kaleidoscope of all people would have a better hang on what's missing and what isn't though, especially when things they claim are missing have been broadcast on TV over the past few years, or are listed as held on the BFI's publicly searchable database.

Then again, they couldn't run a TV channel.

Notice they're now showing Small Talk on Sunday afternoons.

Also have they always stitched episodes of Millionaire together - I know they have to be heavily edited to remove the contestant line references but the other night they went from the £1000 to £2000 question seemlessly, except for a complete change of clothes for the contestant. It wasn't just a case of merging two half hour episodes together - it was quite early in the episode. Having just channel hopped through I was already wondering how they'd got through three contestants in 10 minutes.

Is it one of the "Classic Millionaire" episodes? If so, that would have been an ITV edit back when they showed it.

Classic Millionaire is just repackaged contestant attempts that often used to straddle shows, you can usually tell where they straddled originally by the sudden change of clothes between one question and the next. They do their own straddling as well as appropriate so the openings and closings are cold (ie you just go straight into "here's your question for £32k" as opposed to "Hello, welcome, this is Fred, he's going for £32k, etc").

I can't remember how Classic Millionaire came about actually, I think it may have been because ITV wanted a filler and because of the entry point references they couldn't just wheel out an old episode, hence the need to repackage it?

That explains it then.

If only the original tapes still exist from series 5 onwards if ITV and Challenge got Series 1-4 and the live series in the vault.

If you're responding to a specific point earlier in the thread you'd do well to quote it before replying to it, otherwise it looks like you're just rambling to yourself especially when the last post was over a week earlier.

The challenge facebook page have recently made a post saying "We're loving the lunchtime All New Blockbusters with Simon Mayo at the helm.

Tune in for more at 1pm"

That series was in 2012!

"All New Blockbusters" appears to be an official name. Sort of like "Brand Spanking New Doug" I suppose.
