Just catching up on episodes from the start of the week, funny to see Audrey staying in the same hotel I've stayed in before, though in my experience it definitely wasn't the luxury 5 star hotel Corrie was making out. Though it was 20 years after that was filmed, maybe it wasn't as run down in 1991 Razz

No sound on ITV HD (On Virgin Media anyway)

This seems to be a widespread thing according to Twitter

Was it just during Corrie? Checking the Sky ITV HD regions, all have audio.

The way they've been talking about Simon possibly being the father of Amy's baby, the writers seem to have forgotten that they're not blood relatives.

Yes, just watching my recording of tonight's second episode (recorded from Virgin), the picture freezes about 1 minute in, then when it unfreezes it's silent for the rest of the episode, and into the following programme.

That fact was brought up at least once, with the general response being the "Yeah but even so," that you'd expect. It's not like it wouldn't still be weird.

Peter's never slept with Tracy; doesn't mean the writers have forgotten they're not blood relatives either.

What's weird about it? Cousin relationships are perfectly legal (the problem with it is that they're underage). Not that it'll matter when the truth does come out, since Simon's not actually the one who got her up the duff.

On the itv 3 repeats they seem to be alternating between the still shot of the rooftops and the live shot of the rooftops on the closing credits. When you see a few episodes with the live shot, it makes the still of the rooftops look very dated even for 1991!

The rooftop shot dates right from the start of colour in 1969, no wonder it looked dated by 1991!

The modern videotaped background didn't last that long though, by 1992 they're back using the old rooptop shot, and that stays until 1999 when they bring the 1991 video back... for about a year, until ITV bought in their generic credits.

It seems to have been a period where they couldn't settle on a credit format - live/old background, all scrolling/part scrolling, long/short/super short durations, big text/smaller text. Something we just don't really get anymore from any show, it's set once and that's it.

It's the exact same style on every show... and it's the most boring style imaginiable.

I've started watching from the beginning on a certain tube on the interweb and there's some cases in the first few episodes where it looks like someone has forgot to start the scrolling credits and they end up scrolling so fast it looks rushed and it crashes in to the "next episode" slide before the music finishes.
