Apparently it is because of the refurbishment of Studio 3. The Six-One and Nine O'Clock News, along with the main weekend news is done from Studio 2, whilst the One O'Clock News and shorter weekend summaries are done from the small one camera presentation studio, which is why the One O'Clock News is presented in a reduced "summer schedule" format until the relaunch of RTE News which is due later this month.
The RTÉ Guide for next week still has the One O'Clock News at 15 minutes.
Why wasn't Studio 1 mentioned in the invitation to tender document? They mention nearly all other studios at RTE not Studio 1, I wonder why?
I don't know why that is the case.
On the E-Tenders website; RTÉ News & Current Affairs are going to link up with all of their radio offices with video links back to Dublin.
They have documents here which state that the new look should be completed by early January.
