Was looking for the newscopter thread but seems to have been archived.

Stumbled on this while browsing Early TV Museum website in the US:

Seems RCA had the idea to use an aircraft for news reporting even in 1946.



I guess an aircraft used for news coverage would be a logical conclusion to their wartime work with aircraft fitted with TV cameras.

I believe New Today Show Graphics are on the way. On Saturday the show didn’t include the time/temp and ticker backdrop. In the past when it’s not included in feed it’s a sign of new graphics or the ticker is changing. Today we had a new ticker that takes up most of the screens width with a gray background. It has a larger area for the crawl, a few pixels of space and smaller area for the time/temp on the right.

I think we can come to that conclusion now:

It does indeed, well spotted! Mind you, they are the same company now!!!

To be honest, with the show logo in the lower third, I quite like the style.

Wouldn't be the worst thing in the world if a variant of those ended up being used when NBC/Comcast inevitably wants to put its stamp on Sky News

Are we ever going to see a peacock next to Sky News, like Euronews?

I'd say it's doubtful in the short term. That didn't stop me mocking these up a few months ago, however.

I would expect that they would use the NBC font rather than the current Sky font though. It would then be in-keeping with CNBC and Euronews.
