I wonder what Studio 3 looks like now? They must have had a break over Christmas. Work only began in the week before Christmas.

Is there a purge going on at RTE News?

Has RTE decided to reduce their One O'Clock News to just 15 minutes, as from the schedules for next week, it seems they are keeping the 15 minute summer style reduced edition from Monday 7th January 2019. Is that more cutbacks at RTE News?

On the E-Tenders website; RTÉ News & Current Affairs are going to link up with all of their radio offices with video links back to Dublin.

They have documents here which state that the new look should be completed by early January.

The temporary studio is coming from studio 2 and controlled from the studio 3 control room.
One of the requirements is for studio 2 to be available from 4.30pm daily in order to be controlled from the studio 3 control room.
This would explain why the One o’clock is reduced to the summer time duration as it’s coming from the SORC studio during the studio 3 revamp.
The normal 25 minute edition of the One o’clock bulletin would likely be problematic for a studio that tends to cater for bulletins no more than 10 minutes long.

If that’s the case, a pretty good sign of the relaunch date would be the One returning to its normal length?

I would be fairly confident the One will return to its regular length following the relaunch. Be difficult to deliver the bulletin without access to the studio 3 control room and a full composite of staff to produce the regular bulletin length. The SORC studio would only be controlled by a single production staff member.

Why wasn't Studio 1 mentioned in the invitation to tender document? They mention nearly all other studios at RTE not Studio 1, I wonder why?

I don't know why that is the case.
