Some of my very limited recordings from today have repeats of the 2017 set in there, so presumably they've just added the 'ex-STV2' ones to what they had already.
(Edit - Sorry for the repeat - Andrew's edit wasn't there when I started writing the post!)
I think they're going to have to re-use an awful lot more than that one bit of ident music and a few festive idents from STV2 to recoup some of those losses the second channel made.
On the topic of idents, here's a curious one from 1982.
We see the STV Presentation slide, with the then current STV logo. After the adverts, which includes one for the town of Southport on Merseyside, which you all MUST visit (I have and recommend it!), we get the Scottish News slide, with Tony Currie presenting. But look at the STV logo on that slide. It's made of two lines, not one solid line. And the weather slide is the same. It does partly remind me of the then BBC2 logo, which was =2=. The STV logo is =STV=.
Was there a reason for this?

I have been enjoying "Jim" ca this evening especially for the fact he been using alot of those newer 2016 idents, which don't often get peak time airings.
Would it be his job to actually pick the idents that’s aired?

Yes, I remember one of the other CA uploaded a video and said how in between the main show of the evening peak, there would get things ready for the pre-recorded CA during the daytime.

STV and Sky agree five-year strategic partnership
STV and Sky have today announced a five-year strategic partnership, which will give Sky customers in Scotland access to STV’s regional variants in full HD, as well as STV's leading VOD service - STV Player - on their set top boxes for the first time.
Sky customers in STV's broadcast licence areas will be able to catch up on their favourite STV programmes - including Coronation Street and Britain’s Got Talent and classic shows from the STV archives - on Sky Q and Sky+ set top boxes, as well as mobile devices via streaming and offline viewing. The STV Player will be available in the second half of 2019.
As part of the deal, all four STV regions will launch in HD to create the first fully regionalised PSB HD service on Sky, giving Sky customers across Scotland access to regional STV programming including STV News at Six. The new HD variants are expected to launch in the first half of 2019.
This new partnership enhances an already strong relationship between the two broadcasters, with STV Player already available on Sky’s NOW TV. Additionally, the deal will support future functionality, including cloud recording and restart, and IP delivery.
Simon Pitts, CEO of STV, said: "We’re delighted to be strengthening our partnership with Sky, which will give Sky viewers across Scotland even better access to STV’s hit shows whenever and wherever they want them.”
Stephen van Rooyen, CEO UK & Ireland, Sky, said: “This partnership with STV will bring even more great content to Sky customers across Scotland, as well as enabling us to collaborate and launch the first fully regionalised HD service from a public service broadcaster.”
