- BBC News to finally adopt the Reith font and a new on screen graphics roll out
- BBC Look East to get new sets in Cambridge and Norwich
- Sky News to get new lower thirds

Predictions for 2019:

Sky News HD finally goes FTA on Sky and Freesat. Undecided about Freeview.
Victoria Derbyshire becomes a two hour magazine programme on Saturdays on BBC2 and the NC between 9-11.
The 10am hour on the NC becomes part of an extended Newsroom Live on BBC2.
Politics Live gets a revamp after the current format tanks, moving it back to Daily Politics style.
Andrew Neil leaves Politics Live, but stays on This Week.
Beth Rigby made Pol Ed at Sky News
Euronews gains a Freeview slot on COM7 or 8.
The start of NBC News and Euronews copy being used on Sky News and vice versa
Sky Sports News on NOW TV becomes free for all pass holders regardless of device.

If this was a genuine awards show you'd probably open it by asking everyone to go home because nobody really deserves anything this year. News is all a bit stuck in a rutt. The genre needs a bit of innovation again really.
