Horrid in play graphics on Final Score - three letter abbreviations may be fine for the Premier League but for teams in the 1st round FA Cup are generally useless.
Sky playing musical channels with their tennis coverage last night and again tonight, both times listing some of the coverage on Sky Sports Mix then changing it to Sky Sports Arena at short notice.

Also on Sky, the MLS match on Sky Sports Football has a fault slide on it right now.
There was a bit of finger trouble in the West Brom v Leeds match on Saturday, which briefly cut to the studio mid match. The lights were dimmed (possibly just house lights) but the match continued on the big screen behind the desk.

Also according to a thread on DS, there was a sound issue during the playing of the Last Post and what sounded like some fake crowd audio was played over it.
I may have confused myself about the TV studios from the Aviva. I think Channel 4 is in the same studio as ITV's 6 Nations coverage. At least Channel 4 have done a good bit of effort in adding a nice bit of colour to their own presentation of the match. RTÉ on the other hand have a much bigger space to use with Daire & their 3 analysts for their coverage of the match. RTÉ's setup is about as cheap as you can get really. If you take away the round desk in the middle with the chairs. It looks bland, sterile, cheap, no sense of character & feels like being inside a hospital ward. Although; it feels very convenient though that both RTÉ & Channel 4 are probably located right beside each other in the Aviva.
I’m only catching up on this now, but RTÉ were pitchside for the pregame. At half time they were back up in the stand, but their studio now seems to be at the Havelock Square end of the West Stand, wheras before it was at the Landsdowne Road end. Also a much smaller desk than previously.
Still, it’s good to have rugby back on RTÉ, albeit briefly. Rugby on RTE now is a bit like golf on the BBC - rare, yet oddly familiar production wise. And just like when you hear the BBC golf theme on those rare occasions, it’s good to hear “Fighting 17th” (yes, the theme from the Kurt Russell film Backdraft, but now for nearly twenty years RTÉ’s rugby theme) again in the build up to a match. (Even if like me you’re watching a recording and already know the score).
Ryle Nugent left RTE at the start of June and now appears to be freelancing - he made an appearance on eir’s Pro14 coverage recently. Hugh Cahill called the game for RTE yesterday.
Here is a pic of RTÉ's look for last Saturday just for confirmation. I'm not very known on TV studios in the Aviva Stadium.
Here is a sample of other C4's other graphics from last Saturday.
And yet those abbreviations are the least sucky things about them. The graphics are awful.
I don't know about that, I find them very clear and easy to follow. And there's not really an issue with the abbreviations given that they were always on screen during reports where the teams were repeatedly named, plus the full names were constantly scrolling as well.

That was in the other Football League match this weekend, the Sheffield derby. As mentioned, when they were doing the Last Post and the minutes' silence, they appeared to fade up crowd noise. I wonder if this was because they needed some ambient noise because total silence causes issues (like on radio how if they're silent for too long the emergency tape kicks in) and they were only supposed to have it incredibly faintly in one audio channel, virtually inaudible to the viewer - but they messed it up and turned it up too loud.
Pretty sure the studio RTÉ used was the same one TV3 used for the Aviva 6 nations games. Perhaps the other studio down the other corner is now gone.
And yes I have seen RTÉ use those replay wipes on other sports. The giveaway is when it's a two crest wipe, the background is blue which fits into their current scheme. Channel 4 were all green.
Are the draws back to being hosted by the BBC this year then or did BT only do them from the later stages over the last couple of years?
The Beeb are indeed hosting them this season. BT have done it in the past, but I don't think it's necessarily been as regimented as one broadcaster doing them for a whole season. Course, the League Cup draw has been hosted all over the place in recent seasons.
And yes, there were sound problems for the first five minutes.
