EMT providing an outdated report on the late bulletin this evening. I really don't understand why the regions have a late bulletin on a Sunday as they clearly don't have the resources to create or update content after the evening bulletin.

Please would you care to elaborate on what the report was, and why it was "outdated"?

It said that the occupants of the helicopter weren't known and that it wasn't known whether the chairman had died.

Thank you for clarifying.
(I didn't want to acknowledge your post by way of the Kudos button, as a "thumbs up" hardly seems an appropriate symbol following the tragic events).

Was ITV News Central another pan-regional from Leicester this evening?

Animated astons now appear to be in full time use as of today on Midlands Today.
They're a bit clunky animating though. They appear slow to animate and not smooth at all.
Also to add to that, Andy Knowles was on the football report tonight. Hadn't heard from him in ages. I remember him being presenter in the Pebble Mill days.

I assume the Breakfast bulletins were a soft launch then - took a while to go full time but definitely an improvement on the ageing aston CG.
Interestingly the name aston still uses a slightly darker font, which looks just wrong!
The transition on the headlines is also annoying, it's the 8pm short bulletin wipe for anyone who hasn't seen it and it just looks lazy.

12 years ago yesterday Central South closed it's doors for the final time and Thames Valley Today/Tonight launched. It's hard to believe in January it will be 30 years since Central South launched. Hopefully there will be sharing of some good memories on Twitter. The local road signs in Abingdon still direct folk to ''Central TV''.

Despite the fact that the building on that Abingdon industrial estate hasn't contained ITV Central/Thames Valley/Meridian for a few years now!

I always thought Central News South was a regional news programme which punched very much above its weight. For a fairly small sub-region it always seemed very polished and professional with strong presenters. Anne Dawson and Wesley Smith were a fantastic pairing.
When I moved from Gloucestershire to Yorkshire in the mid-90s, I was struck by how amateurish Calendar seemed in comparison.

It was usually quite cutting edge with its technology too. (Famously so in terms of its launch show)
It had robot cart machines, and then Quantel non-linear editing far-far-before the BBC (or ITN) had their Quantel systems.
