What has happened to ITV News? Feels very sterile and bland these days, even this presenter who’s currently doing the weekend news has no personality or warmth.

Kylie Pentalow has plenty of personality when she's on ITV News West Country, so maybe it has more to do with what they expect from her on the national programme.

Flog it being on could be a sign that something is expected as Flog It is often used as a droppable or filler programme.
Whatever it is has been known about for at least a couple of weeks as these are not last minute schedule changes, which means it is likely to be either something that they have been holding back or the preplanned release of some report.

There's virtually no chance of this being the case.

It's more likely to be the case that it's easier just to keep the news going for longer than it is to sort out any more compliant filler programmes. If they can fill half an hour of news on a Bank Holiday, why not? Means they don't need to start tinkering with the schedules.

All news seems sterile and bland since Brexit.

Has everyone noticed that there seems to be a full length regional news and national news tomorrow at 6pm, despite being a bank holiday?

As well as full length national and regional evening bulletins we appear to have our regular presenters also. Normally the regular presenters don't appear on Bank Holidays. But on ITV Wales at least we had our regular lunchtime presenter and one of our regular 6pm presenters. Even the weather was done by our regular weekday presenter, normally Bank Holidays are part of the weekend weather hub.

Maybe in Wales, but not here in the Calendar region, we had B and C list presenters and weather hub weather.

They had some lesser known presenters on Granada Reports as well?

We had an outside broadcast for the weather - never known that on a bank holiday before. Ruth Wignall was the presenter. On Westcountry Charlie Powell presented the weather, the regular weekday presenter I think. Not sure about other regions.

There is no regional late bulletin as is usual for Bank Holidays I think?

Tyne Tees had the normal presenters, London had Lucrezia Millarini who also presented the national Lunchtime News. Weather was with Philippa Drew.

Matt O’Donaghue and Mel Barham do present Granada Reports on occasions. In fact Mel covered last week on some nights.

I think it was a good idea to have a 30 minute programme but I felt they could have done more with it. There were several events taking place in the North West this weekend which weren’t mentioned and it seemed they were trying to fill the time with reports on tourism.

Kerrie did the weather live from a chilly Media City UK.

All in all was good but could have had more element to it.

It was business as usual for us over the border as it wasn't a bank holiday...

Scotland has retained the early August bank holiday along with the Republic of Ireland right?

For my region and sterile news look no further than BBC Look East, or Anglia News. Zzzzzz.......

Look East with Stewart and Susie, sterile? They are one of the very best and longest regional duos. Simply superb I feel.
