Oh, good lord....
The school holidays are over soon, right?
Is Coronation Street still in production?

The thought of her on TVX is even more disturbing...
The appearance in question was on Television X, not Men & Motors. It’s available on YouTube, taken from a clip show (Chris Quentin, the talking head incidentally).
I’ll do TV Forum the favour of not embedding it.

Of course Coronation Street is out of production though, ITV are putting 6 old episodes a week in valuable prime time slots for a laugh

I remember getting Lynne Perrie's autobiography around the time she passed away as people were talking about how great a read it was so decided to read it. A fantastic book and id recommend it. Lots of stories from behind the scenes at Corrie during the 70s, 80s and early 90s and how she got on with her colleagues. I remember Helen Worth and Chris Quentin were the only 2 members of the cast to attend her funeral. Loving Ivy in the old episodes. Im also surprised how much i'm liking Bet in the old episodes too. Much more than I remembered first time around, a fantastic character. Its good to see the new buildings the other side of the street almost complete, the set Is going to look almost like modern Corrie when its completely finished. I was surprised to hear that Rita moves in to the new Kabin in Spring 1990, for some reason I thought it was towards the end of the year. It was a shame to see the end of the Rosamund Street Kabin, a fixture in the show since 1973. Although the café stays on Rosmaund St until the end of the decade. I preferred having them further away from the street itself, it was more realistic really. But I guess now you could argue the Co-op and Costa are a similar distance to the street itself to where the Rosamund Street shops were meant to be.
As for current Corrie, is it just me or is it just a bit flat at the moment? We have had IMO the best 18 months of Corrie since the start of the decade, but now it just all feels a bit boring and there isn't really much I care about. I admit I haven't caught up with Wed or Fridays episodes yet. But I just don't care about Tracy/Steve/Abi/Beth,, Peter/Toyah, Imran, Rana and their parents party, Adam and especially Gemma Henry and the Rovers. I feel like they are trying to make Gemma into the new Becky and it just doesn't work for me. The only scenes that got my interest was Billy and Josh in hospital, it will be interesting to see where this storyline goes. But I am dreading the change of producer at Corrie to be honest and just hope the show isn't going to go through another bad period.

The thing with Corrie and indeed any soap is you could probably put together "new" episodes by reusing old scenes, even changing the storylines by cutting them differently.
Corrie's big issue at the moment is it is far more storyline led than it is character led. They do have a fairly strong cast of characters and actors but as they're bounced from storyline to storyline there is little time for the viewers to connect to them as characters, and hence viewers don't really care about their storylines.
