Isn't that noise in the clip above noise from the building site?

The Jim & Alf scene was shown- without the tape damage. ITV must have another copy of the episode without it.

Alan Bradley currently trending on Twitter.

Noticed it ended with the old blue Granada endcap rather than the generic ITV one that's on the Network DVD- so ITV3 must have used an export copy that doesn't have the tape damage. Today's first episode had the generic endcap though- it's a mish-mash from one epsiode to the next on these repeats.

Alan Bradley's trending on Twitter too- ITV3 must be impressed!

#classiccorrie appeared to be trending a few minutes ago - a good piece of PR indeed.

Let's hope ITV3 change the "rewind the clock back to the 80s" pre-rec continuity announcement by next week...

Interesting too seeing as how little promotion it's had, these repeats have spread by word of mouth. ITV did promote them at the end of an episode of Corrie not long after the repeats started, but that's the only time I've seen them mentioned.

Was that a shocking ending in 1989? It seems very restrained compared to soaps now.

Not really surprised that ITV3 cut the scene today, I think Granada Plus kept it in when they aired it in 2002?

I guess it was a shocking ending for the time. The Alan Bradley storyline has been played out on ITV3 in just under 10 months. Amazing to think of the changes in the show from January 1986 to December 1989, a very different show I think. As others have said I think Hilda going was a major change, and during 1988 and 1989 a lot changed to the feel of the show and how it was filmed.
Stuart and Revolution gave kudos

Hilda's departure signalled 'out with the brown, in with the pastels'. The sets gradually changed and so did the makeup of the show.

Today's Corrie just looks and feels like a completely different soap. There is a generation growing up which knows no different, they like the flashy stunts and routine drama, but even for them it becomes jarring after a while. I think the 50th anniversary tram crash was the moment things changed and not necessarily for the better.

Watching Mark Eden as Alan Bradley, four years of performances condensed into ten months, and it's testament to the actor the quality of his acting hasn't dipped. The actors really took pride in their profession, today's Corrie meanwhile has morphed into a conveyor belt where you don't need to shine as a performer, just handle the workload.

Was that the "stupid b*tch" comment that you're referencing? I also note the end scene as the credits ran was an extreme close up of Rita's face which looked hastily edited. Was this as broadcast or was this what was cut?
