The GMTV Thread

Looking at the clients on there, Esther Mcvey was in the GMTV line up somewhere. It actually answers. She filled in whilst fiona was on maternity leave for 6 onths in 1999. So how long has fiona been there? I say 1996/97.

I see GMTV has axed the new music this morning and reverted to the old style, the new titles remain. Works much better in my opinion, but aren't GMTV notorious for introducing changes, only to revert back after a few days ? I wonder if they got complaints, or just read this forum

Oh yes, old music is better -- the new music sounded far too 90s to me. And only the fab original saxophone music is allowed to be far too 90s. HTV hasn't broken for a while now so we've been denied it for some time. Fingers crossed though.

Meanwhile GMTV Today has descended into pure smut, the last three days of Eamonn and Fiona have been filled with innuendo and double meaning beyond what it ever was before.
Plus all this talk of Eamonn going all tantric all the time -- puts you off your marmite.

Haven't see much this morning, has the wide shot been axed from the top of each hour yet?

They still had the wide shot. I missed yesturdays, so i recorded todays so i could catch the new music and they've gone and changed it back. Whats the point in going back when you can go forward.

Thats like getting Eamonn and Fiona back for three days and putting someone else in their place (It most probably will turn out to be true if eamonn's still doing 3 days a week!)!

I dont get why they've reverted back. Some people may have tuned in today for the first time in the week.
Perhaps they've had to pull it due to problems with it.
Hopefully it will return if only for one day so that I can hear it without sound problems (ala monday!)

I havent seen the new look yet. Will do tomorrow. But in the meantime... is it just new look graphics or has the studio had some changes?

That Holmes bloke and Fiona Phillips are back, what a shame...Kate Garraway (what a great looking lady) and Andrew Castle were brilliant yet again and should remain as the main presenters, much more enjoyable

No changes to the set bar lorraine's chair and sofa, they are now covered in a horrible shade of pink!

If Eamonn is stil doing 3 days, we will either see Andrew or Ben with Fiona tomorrow wont we, then Kate on friday (or are all of these on holiday after the summer?).

They should bring back the new theme tune along with the new graphics, no one ever changes to revert, bar GMTV; a change is a natural progression; if this is how they are doing it we may have the same GMTV today music in 10 years time!

Im sick of the morning show of the year 2003 on GMTV, and the channel of the year on BBC Two. Just because you are doesnt mean we want to know. Id much prefer to see a clean set of titles for GMTV. I've never got why they put the website address on when its over the clock throughout the show anyway!

Could you upload the new titles with the old music?

I have to say I hate the old music. It sounds so naff, and lacks the polished sound of the music used before it.

Yes and the old tune is much more of a tune rather than the remixed out of all proportion new one, the old bed works much better as well.

This shows that there's actually someone with sense at GMTV and they can revert back when something isn't working, unlike many other broadcasters

This shows that they didn't test the new theme to see if it worked in the first place. It wouldn't have taken long to do a run through to see if the new theme sounded ok.

Remember they also pulled the new News Hour theme as well, so god knows what that sounded like if it didn't even make it to air!

There's only the new look LK Today that has actually been kept!
