It was the 80s. There was a topless woman in the opening titles to Holiday too.....

I've just watched Channel 5's Top of the Box: 1985, which featured an interview with Lesley Grantham, which was likely to be one of his last interviews (if not his very last interview).

It also featured an interview with Jim Bowen, which was his final interview, which was mentioned during the programme.

It might be the last thing Matthew Kelly does on TV by looking at the state of him. Not having seen him on TV for a while it was such a shock to see how bad and unhealthy he appeared to look.

I don't think he looks bad for a man that's nearly 70.
Cando, fusionlad and Jon gave kudos

I think people forget that people's appearance isn't frozen in time, and then get suprised when they see someone who they haven't seen in anything new for several years.

EastEnders scored its lowest ever overnight rating last night - 2.97m.

Was that the first episode or the second one?

The second, hadn't realised it was on twice last night.

I imagine a hot summer night, a Friday, and a second episode people might not have known was on all combined to create that.

I think they really need to cut back to three nights a week. I know someone that works on the show and it's like a factory, trying to pump out as many episodes as possible, and quality is suffering. But not only that, it would help people keep more of a track on storylines.

Bring back the Ferreiras!

That’s pretty shocking figures even given the circumstances. The obligatory comparison with Love Island (2.89m) on a ‘digital’ channel showed it only just beat that.

I can’t see them cutting back episodes, it wouldn’t look good against Corrie having upped their episode count this year.

Do people not really care anymore or is it simply that iPlayer has made it so easy to catch up later (particularly as EE is regularly the most watched programme on there)?

Was the second episode promoted over the credits of the first?

Although it was a football free night I've always felt bumping them around the schedules during the World Cup does far more harm than either taking a complete break for the tournament would, or at the very least skipping rather than rescheduling the episodes displaced by football. Really though the way BBC matches fell EastEnders should have just gone off air for at least the group stages of the tournament.
