That would be very sensible, using the higher rating CBB as a lead into the less popular BB so potentially give it a boost.
The Sun is reporting (so take it with a pinch of salt) Celebrity Big Brother is to launch before civilian Big Brother this year.

It puts civilian BB though, which is the longer show with less ratings appeal, in the midst of the autumn schedule.
The whole point was that for C5, Big Brother was a summer 'ratings banker' when the broadcasters other schedules are weaker. So by avoiding a Love Island clash the show goes instead up against the big drama's and higher rating shows that you get from the other broadcasters in the autumn.

Best rename it Big Sister then.
Just like when Davina presented
They should be positioning themselves as the antidote to Love Island rather than copy it. There are a lot of people who love Love Island, but there are a hell of a lot more who hate it. It’s no coincidence that as the contestants have become more and more self-aware fame wannabes, the viewing figures have gone down.
I’d get rid of Emma and Rylan, and treat it in a bit more of a grown-up way rather than the “zomg I can’t believe she said that behind his back” conflict mentality they’ve dwelled on for too long. Hell, get Victoria Coren-Mitchell presenting it .

The first C5 civilian series aired in the autumn. Frankly with ratings as they are it doesn't matter what they go up against - it's the show itself rather than the competition which keeps it's ratings down.

Judging by this tweet, it looks like Celebrity Big Brother is scheduled to start on the 17th of August.

Is it bad that I read Ash as Asa
In all fairness this could fix Big Brother and help the show get back on track

In all honesty, C5 should have never picked it up. I imagine there's a lot of people who actually don't realise that it's still going.
Like someone said upthread, Love Island has kind of become the "water cooler" show now, and although it's the most fake, plastic and vacuous thing I've ever seen, ITV have played an absolute blinder this year in pitching it as the ultimate counter-programming for World Cup Widows. I was astonished to read that something like a fifth of the audience don't watch it on a television, which I think shows just how well it's targeted.
On the other hand, who is BB for? The people (like myself) who watched the early series, particularly, say, the first two or three, aren't interested anymore and those who are too young to remember Craig and Nasty Nick are watching Love Island.
Where do they go with it?

You would have thought that for a show like that, the production team wouldn't need to send out 'begging' emails inviting Sub Z list 'celebs' to apply to be on the show.
I've assumed they have a list of targets, and work their way down it until they have the full house plus spares.
