Considering the directors in the nations probably had very little notice about the impending problem - and had a schedule pre-programmed - I'd say Al did quite well there actually. Remember, in Scotland, Wales and NI, the announcers are also controlling the playout system.

A rough screen recording, for those who want to see it.

I'd say that's the best execution of programme breakdown continuity that I've seen on the BBC in many a year.

Did anyone else notice that the screen went a bit funny a few minutes into the BAFTAs? Is the BAFTAs broadcast like any other OB? Or are the feeds hard wired from RAH?

Edit. Its just done it again!

I guess the first the Nations director/announcers would have known of the issue was seeing the extra trail/menu on the network feed while they were introducing the programme.

For all three to have been a bit of a mess implies that the London director maybe hadn't had chance to warn them on talkback.
Write that down in your copybook now.
