It will always be LWT in my eyes, just as YTV is in Leeds, these other names just go in one ear and out the other.

here here, like Granada in Quay street!

Me too, especially as it was shown on screen so much in LWTs presentation for years.

Talking of YTV, so is their building the last man standing of ITV? Or are Anglia and what was HTV still in their old buildings?

HTV are still on Bath Road in Bristol but the building was sold off many years ago and they are now merely a tenant.

Anglia are still in their original buildings, although there's plenty of space they used to use that has been sold off.

Anglia's an interesting one! In terms of buildings they were once had quite a lot of space in Norwich. Anglia House was their original home and remains their base to this day - it's a pretty impressive old building from the front, right in the centre of Norwich and still has massive letters proclaiming 'Anglia Television' on it! Townshend House is then behind Anglia House, and a more recent build (probably 1980s-ish), and connects to AH via a walkway at the back of the building. Whilst the link is maintained the building is now mixed-use offices. Until about 5 years ago there used to be a massive satellite dish out the front of the building, with an advert for Anglia Tonight on it, but now there's just a much smaller (although bigger than normal) plain white dish. Anglia House was renovated around 2013 so I'd say that's when they stopped using Townshend but I'm not 100% sure?

Anglia then also had a studio complex on Magdalen Street, which was sold off long ago and is now known as Epic studios - Late Kick Off East for BBC One East was filmed there ISTR.

Indeed. As recently discussed in the South West England & CI Thread...

At some point between 2005 and 2013, the Bristol building as a whole became the independently-owned "Bath Road Studios" with ITV West (as it was still called at that stage) becoming a mere tenant. At some point in the last couple of years or so, the facility has been renamed again as "Here"! (Stylised as [HERE] ). I don't think that any of the building's other current tenants have anything whatsoever to do with the television industry.

If ITV own the freehold to the land, I wonder why they haven't planned to include at least one big TV studio on the rebuilt site to rent out to productions. I can appreciate why they may not want to run a studios business, but they could always let a third party rent the studio space off them and manage it, much like BBC Studioworks rents Television Centre, to rent back out to other productions.

It just seems odd to me to demolish a studio space that is never short of bookings, in a prime location, and not include a big non-daytime studio in the new plans, especially when adding an extra floor to the new tower would hardly break the bank. I wonder if it's because the tenants of the new luxury apartments wouldn't want noisy entertainment shows being produced across the road?

Mid-late 80s, I remember going on a tour not long after it opened. While Anglia House looks good from the outside, even as a little kid, I remember Anglia House as being a horrible building inside -everything's been squeezed into the gaps formed around the studio spaces, resulting in things like roof girders running through the sides of corridors. It's a much older building than the Anglia itself.

That said, it was much nicer than the place they had on the other side of the road. Only went in once, and it was the first (and last!) time I've ever been in an open sided lift. Whole place was run down even then.

Studio F has been lost completely though - built as a dedicated news studio, it was in the building that's now an estate agents. Ended up being used as an audience handling area for Studio A (the main Anglia House studio) for shows like Trisha.

( Studio E was the largest studio and on the magelen street site)

That's the converted bowling alley studio in the Anglia Square development isn't it? ISTR that the lighting grid is far lower than ideal.

AIUI this is run as EPIC now?

AIUI About Anglia used to come from the original Anglia building, then when they launched Anglia News East and West with a fully split service they effectively split a studio on that site in two. Then when they upgraded to digital SDI they moved both studio operations to the Anglia Square site - with the East having a real studio and the West having a virtual studio (also used for other shows). Then they relocated back to the original Anglia building at some point later, possibly when ITV News branding took over?

Peston on Sunday still looked like it still came from TLS.

The set looked exactly the same and the same view could be seen out the window in the guest green room area.

Therefore I’m not sure what’s happening to the programme or where it is going and I presume it must be continuing from TLS for the remainder of the new series.
