He's been working for the regions where he's been with Central and Meridian over the past few months. Some regional correspondents usually cover the national news at weekend.
Mark Mquillan reporting on Itv news tonight from Tottenham is he now full time at Itv news following his departure from Channel?

I'm sure I've seen him turn up on West Country, within some of those generic "aggregate" packages that get shown in multiple regions.

According to Mr Google, it's been like that since at least August last year.

It's quite a sad reflection of how much ITV's regional commitment has shrunk over the years. What was once TWO regional franchises is now just a minor lodger in a multi-purpose office complex.
From mansion to bedsit in 15 years.
I recently wandered down to Arnos Vale for the first time in absolutely ages, and have discovered that Bath Road Studios (home of ITV News West Country) has at some point been renamed as "Here"! (Stylised as "[HERE]" )

This is similar to what happened at Central in Birmingham a few years ago, where they're now just a tenant in a small part of the building.

Indeed.
They moved from their large Broad Street complex (which dated back to the ATV days) in about the mid 1990s, to a significantly smaller building in Gas Street. Just like with HTV/Bath Road Studios/"Here", ITV Central ceased to own/occupy even the whole of that modest building at some point, and now just lease back a "bedsit"-worth of it for their newsroom and 1 studio.
If you enter the walled/gated grounds of the building, a plaque close to ground level still remains proclaiming the building's name as "Central Court". You'd not be very likely to casually notice it, if not actively looking, whilst walking past along Gas Street. However, the much more overt signage etc elsewhere very much brands the facility as "22 Gas Street". Again, mostly office space serving distinctly non-television purposes nowadays.
EDIT: kernow beat me to it, whilst I was still typing!

Ah, yes, that name sounds right.
Clearly not a new West Country recruit then!
Must've been a last-resort down the line from Norwich, I guess.
There seems to be no pattern for when your local weather presenter is off, you'll either get someone from and adjacent region who might be semi-regular in your region, or someone from the London network team, or someone random from the other side of the country.

The young guy you mention, it wasn’t Chris Page from Anglia was it?

Remember ITV West Country advertised for a weather presenter at the start of the year. So I wonder if we shall see a new face sometime soon.

Laura Tobin returns to Good Morning Britain on Friday after her maternity leave so I imagine Alex Beresford will be back on West County, and also the nationals.

It was rumoured Alex wouldn't be returning to ITV Westcountry.

It wasn't rumoured. He hasn't been part of the Westcountry team since last year. He is officially part of the ITV National Weather team.

Another inventive use of the Spotlight studio yesterday evening, with this view of the
'sofa-less sofa area'
as a background space for some VR graphics about a report on modular housing in Dorset.
It just shows how much space they have. It's a shame they couldn't also remove the rostrum itself, but I suspect it's quite extensively 'plumbed in' with feeds for the coffee table.
Apologies to Victoria Graham for the shot which makes it look as though she is imitating a 'bunny hop'.
It was the only one I could capture.
