Televisión Pública Argentina, TPA Noticias (1pm edition), 2018:

Even though it's one of the less tabloid newscasts in Argentina, it still carries the legally-mandated warning that "This program is inappropriate for girls, boys and adolescents", which precedes every newscast in the country.

To mark its final broadcast from Mainz, ZDF's Mittagsmagazin ("Midday Magazine") took a look back at its history:

The program will be moving to Berlin, where it will join its ARD sister show.

By the way, this is how Berlin's SFB (now RBB) reported on the launch of Mittgsmagazin back in 1989:

And this is ZDF's new-look Mittagsmagazin from Berlin:

It’s amazing that even in 2018 the Vormittagsprogramm still exists between ARD and ZDF. Granted they have their own schedules in between but it’s amazing they still alternate the Breakfast, Lunchtime programmes and News summaries during the day. They still alternate with things like the Olympics too don’t they?

Yes, ARD will show coverage one day, and ZDF the next. I believe they do the same with the World Cup.

The news summaries haven't been within scope of the joint alternating programmes for quite a while now. So, for example, at the end of the Morgenmagazin at 9:00 CET, there's a choice of either Tagesschau or heute Xpress.

Is this the first time that ARD and ZDF have shared the same studio for their alternating programmes?

I admit, I find the continuation of the joint programming between ARD/ZDF quaint and a bit weird. And it strikes me as totally incomprehensible that the two would share a studio for production of essentially the same programme, but each with different graphics and set-up. I'm sure Germans are used to it, but I would have thought that - even with ARD and ZDF alternating production - you'd still have a common appearance across the shows to provide consistency of experience for viewers.
