BBC Regional News on BBC One HD

Sorry if this has been mentioned before, or if it should be in the newsroom forum...

Just noticed during tonight’s Ten that BBC Wales News was on BBC One HD. Usually get a holding slide.

Is this the same for all regions?

Still shows the holding caption on the BBC One HD live feed on the iPlayer.

On network? BBC One Wales has been in HD for years

BBC One in the nations is in HD, but there's only one BBC One HD for England.

I used to get this...

Nations all get their bulletins on the HD channel since BBC One HD was split into four HD regions. England gets the caption above and regional non-news shows are from a mix of the English regions.

No idea why my TV is suddenly doing this then. I must have been on BBC England before but now on BBC Wales. Didn’t take much interest to be honest, don’t think there should be a BBC Wales/England/Scotland/Ireland. Should be just one BBC. It is the *British* Broadcasting Corporation after all.

Were you watching on satellite or terrestrial?

I don't get your logic there, you think every BBC service should be for the whole of Britain!?

There probably shouldn't be a BBC Ireland given the vast majority of the island is an independent nation in its own right...

BBC Wales is a nation, not a region.
