A little late with this one, but it's only just been uploaded to YouTube. SVT relaunched its long running breakfast show late last year. Go'morgon Sverige was replaced with SVT Morgonstudion. 'Go'morgon' had a very gentile, slow pace - a little like BBC Breakfast, while 'Morgonstudion' is more contemporary. The set is within the newsroom and this is also now used for breaking news updates throughout the day on SVTPlay.se. (also on STV1 and 2 if it's a major developing story). As part of the relaunch, the local news has also changed. Instead of the traditional presenter-led local bulletins, the news updates are voiceover with pictures and a menu screen on the left. I can't decide if I like that or not, but it does cut costs down for SVT. The local newscast format may change again in the future as a major public consultation is underway into the future of local news on SVT. It's unlikely to result in the end of local news (this happened a couple of years ago on TV4) but a big shake-up may occur.

I should also add that Lokala Nyheter has since received a graphical update.

Before Mello on Saturday evening I watched the preview programme that was on SVTPlay. I was really impressed with the Morgonstudion studio, however I felt that it was perhaps a bit too cold for breakfast television. Anytime I am in Sweden I would more likely watch Nyhetsmorgon on TV4 which I think works well (I speak no Swedish!).

NRK tried to reduce their local news recently. It went from 20 minutes to 15 minutes without much comment, but then it was announced it was going to be 5 minutes (with regional news stories carried more on the network bulletins)

How much can they really cut. In certain markets the anchor was using an XKeys punch pad to control Mosart (which they likely programmed) all while controlling the telepromper. Unless Mosart can set up a self op situation where as the promoter advances the macros are cued as the story scrolls by.

The intro and headlines for BFMTV's nightly bulletin Journal de la Nuit , on 15 February 2018.

I like the small jingle at the end of the headlines, when the camera zooms on the presenter.

A few additional facts:
• BFMTV actually reused the opening of their evening block BFM Soir : http://medias.lenodal.com/video.php?id=20035
• Here is what the previous Journal de la Nuit intro looked like: http://medias.lenodal.com/video.php?id=19233

Well, someone has accused that the new Rundschau title theme is a copy of that from Hart van Nederland on SBS6.

And here was me being the optimist thinking that maybe SMP who produced the HVNL theme did Rundschau as well. [...]

Guess what? You're right!

This video is from SMP's Vimeo channel. I found out on SMP's website as well.

For comparison, here's Hart van Nederland theme from the same composer:

Malaysia's TV Alhijrah recently has a new look for their news program. The graphics have changed as well. Gone are the red news ticker and unorganized lower thirds (different graphics for name titles and translation subtitles, no headline bar, black bar graphics for location).

The new theme music, as I would describe it, is a butchered edit of N24 Germany/Welt's previous theme music used in 2011-2016.

Promo for TV Alhijrah's Arabic newscast which no longer airs daily but twice a week instead at a late night slot.

Here’s the open and close for the ABC News Special Report Thursday for the FIU bridge collapse. The only reason I’m posting this is because of errors you can see in the beginning and the end of the video. This happens during all special reports but in this case it was during network time. It seems like these errors started when ABC virtualized their entire playout structure to IP. What’s odd is that it doesn’t happen in the beginning but rather a few seconds in.
