The BBC have confirmed details of coverage of the Commonwealth Games 2018 and no real surprised - it's practically an identical model to the Winter Olympics with coverage live from midnight on BBC1 and BBC2, continuing through to 8pm - though the highlights show kicks off half an hour earlier. BBC4 will then have an extra hour of coverage, plus coverage on the red button.
They seem to be a bit cagey though about how much will be online - they have full rights so no reason to limit the coverage as such but they are selling the games as over 200 hours of coverage, though do mention the "key moments" will be live streamed online and through connected TV. For Glasgow 2014 there was 300 hours of network plus 1300 hours of live action across 17 streams. I really hope they're not deliberately limiting coverage to make their Olympic coverage more comparable in a couple of years time.
The press release confirms Hazel Irvine and JJ Chalmers will be live in Queensland with Clare Balding, Jason Mohamed and Gabby Logan in Salford.
