At last Formula One launch their promised own OTT service in several countries ...
F1 announce launch of OTT service called F1 TV. Will be available in 2018 in: Germany, France, USA, Mexico, Belgium, Austria, Hungary, and most of Latin America. Will provide commercial-free live streams of each race, and access to 20 driver on-board cameras every race.
F1 TV Pro will cost between $8 and $12 per month. A less expensive non-live subscription tier, called F1 TV Access, will provide live race timing data and radio commentary as well as extended highlights. F1 TV Access will be available on a near-global basis.
No UK for the moment, maybe later.
.... an aside
Streamer DAZN have picked up the Commonwealth Games rights for Canada, which must be a tremendous blow for conventional broadcasters, whether free or subscription based, in the Country.
On the contrary, I suspect there was very little interest in it from convential broadcasters. Another blow to the profile of the games in a Commonwealth country.
