EVen the BBC hate them now since there throw are at least two completed idents...
Proof of this is...?
Have you not notice the two missing idents which has been postage in this thread? included a video; you can see on Latest topic videos?
What is it that's making these people angry? You can't say any white actors have been shunned to star in the film because everybody's made out of f***ing clay! If there's any other argument than "I don't like seeing people who aren't white" I'd like to hear it.
I still dont get way this is being bought up in this thread or else where. When I saw the lassies on the cartins, all I thought wow she disappoint at the new idents
I never paid much attention to the skin colour..
Can you say anyone you know, has done any of those things in the idents?
Of course. You seriously don't know anyone who had had an allotments, or been to a keep fit class, or enjoys walking up hills? I could go on
I can't say I can. I know one allotment in the area, and after looking up the council website turns out there another two, Most people I know just go to the gym not keep fit classes. Hill walking, its not really a hobby around here mainly because there alot of hills around.
Martin Parrs photography is all about celebrating the quirkiness of British life, I've been a fan of his for a while, but can see how others won't get it.
I dont believe he had celebrated the quirkiness of British life and that where some of the problems lie. I think if there spent a bit more time there could have found some real quirkiness of British life
As for celebrating diversity of communities, well it depends what interpretation of the word community you use. Does my local village Hall host Zumba classes, yes. Are there allotments around the corner? Yes. Do communities by the sea have clubs that go sea swimming, yes.
They're not great as idents, but absolutely they represent the sorts of pastimes that we do. Of course some are niche and eccentric, but as I say people sitting in a pub is common but you can't do that 20 times.
It's also irrelevant that a people outside the UK participate in some of those activites... they are all being done in the UK
I dont think there are niche and eccentric because there could be seen around the world same goes for drinking in the pub.
