Fooled me.
Don't you think for one second, that if that were true, the anti-BBC press (Times, Mail, Express, Telegraph) would have broken this story by now, with screaming headlines shouting about waste of time and public money?

Of course. Honestly, I intended my comment merely as a flippant joke. Anyway, deleted now.

Alex Osborne has been presenting forecasts from the south west pool at times over the last week. I’m guessing Alex has either joined the pool, or is covering. Whichever, she’s a good presenter.
I’ve not seen Tomasz or Stav recently.

Tomasz has been presenting forecasts on the Today programme at least once this week I think he also did the early shipping forecast which makes me think that shift has changed. I believe previously the early shipping forecast was the last thing on the overnight shift as the final 0555 NC weather was pre-recorded.

According to Alex's Twitter, she is now a member of the Plymouth weather hub, although I've only seen her once or twice, while Lucy Martin is still covering a substantial amount of early shifts.

Surprising really considering all the BBC bashing about them dropping the Met Office that they aren't gloating more about the fairly significant delays in the handover.

They probably still want a good working relationship with the BBC even after they cease to be the provider. Plus, they might want the chance to win the contract back in the future. Annoying the BBC by being unprofessional and childish about the delay wouldn’t benefit anyone.

I've not seen much of Helen W either.

As I've said before, I reckon it would be fairly big news if she left, because she has been at the Weather Centre longer than Carol.

I think Brekkie was talking about the anti-BBC brigade rather than the Met Office. Wink

Yes, the story allowed for the very worst type of BBC bashing - bashing the BBC for saving money and improving service. The longer these associations with the BBC last, the more they cost. Which Met Office executive would arrive back in Exeter and say; don't worry guys I've secured the BBC deal for less money than previously! I look forward to the new graphics being on air, I think they'll be worth the wait - and I also look forward to the inevitable press stories which try and stoke up criticism of then change!

Can't believe it's been a week now and no mention of any new graphics by anyone on the TV or online anywhere. Still says "In association with the Met Office" on the weather intro also. Thought the new look would have been launched by now.

Looks like we have to wait til Next Easter (aka 1st April which is Easter Sunday) before the changeover finally happens.
