International News Presentation: Past and Present

So that's where Daniel Corbett went, after leaving our screens in May 2011.

For those interested, here is yesterday's German talk show Maybrit Illner, with Matt Frei (Channel 4) and Fred Pleitgen (CNN) as guests.

ATV, Austria, 2016:

In January, Germany's N24 will be renamed Welt. (The company that owns the news channel also owns the newspaper Die Welt.)

When I think of Maybrit Illner, I think of Anne Will, another eponymously titled talk show.
So here's a one-off (?) parody of Anne Will on a German satirical show Neo Magazin Royale few years ago (back when it was named Neo Magazin):



Although the original is in German, this one-off parody is in English with German subtitles.

For those confused who the two men are, Matt is at 5:23 mark, Fred is at 10:00.

From NRK in Norway - NRK General Election 2017 Intro/Outro

Having watched a bit of NRK's election coverage, I really liked the external studio they'd set up outside the Storting. (See this video for an example.) The coloured elements in the background tied in beautifully with the graphics package. Simple but well executed.

France 24 have launched their new Spanish service today. French and English services have also had the tickers replaced by flippers. F24 Arabic has retained the ticker.
