The 'whooshes' on the animates are a perfect example of 'just because you can, doesn't mean you should'...

(And is there time for any news after that interminable opening sequence?)

Georgia's two most popular channels revamped their morning programs. I think they'll be familiar:

Either they have completely copied CBS This Morning, or they have a partnership that allows them to do this!

Possibly Jack Morton PDG did it or it's a well designed rip off. They even ripped off he opening graphics and the EyeOpener.

But would if there is no connection to Jack Morton or CBS would either of them waste the time and money persuing legal action at a small station in Georgia?

You think Jack Morton would risk their reputation with the Big Networks by designing a rip-off set for some off-mark station? Possible.... but might not be a good business move if the original client got wind they were involved. Just my opinion. Fine if it was similar.... but this is clear rip-off, right down to the graphics and the use of the set. Strange. But a fairly good rip-off. Tip my hat.

That's up to CBS legal if they want to take it there. Ultimately, Jack Morton is at the mercy of their client that booked them to do this. And it's not the first time stations have copied each other. I distinctly remember South Korea's MBC having a news set resembling CBS's Dan Rather / Bob Schiffer era set

Well, there is precedent for CBS considering legal action over this: There was a French late night talk show that modeled itself after CBS's "The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson" down to the intro and some of the puppets that were used in the show. CBS initially pondered legal action but Ferguson ended up taping his show in Paris and appeared on the show in question and the presenter the French show (comedian Jacques "Arthur" Essebag) came to Los Angeles to appear on Ferguson's show.

That headline bed is rather lovely (nice of them not to talk over it).

I feel like that's what the BBC News theme should have evolved into by now!
