As I thought ... not installed to the standard location for software installations, so therefore not installed properly.
The standard location for (non-portable) applications on Windows is Program Files|(name of program) ... Subfolders within the Users folder are absolutely
NOT
meant for software installations under
ANY
circumstances. That's what the Program FIles folder is for!
AppData is a perfectly valid location for applications to install into these days. Especially if it supports per-user installs - in many environments normal users won't have write access to the progra~1 directory.
Got an email today offering me a free Now TV box (should have been £14.99) - I think some members here mentioned a similar offer before, but with refurbished units. There's nothing in this offer (which in the small print says is for 'named customers only') to suggest it's refurbished this time around.
Makes me wonder if there's a third gen Now TV Box on the horizon for the Christmas market considering they're offering trial slots again to existing customers.

What would the innovation be in a third gen box?
Being able to record programs would be a good addition in my opinion. It's the only thing missing from the smart boxes (well apart from a Netflix app, although I realise there is no chance of that).

Do you mean record shows off-air - or record on-line streams?

If a third gen box is launched, it'd have to be positioned somewhere between the 2nd gen and the current Smart Box.
Personally I'd like to see the IR remotes replaced with a bluetooth or wifi remote, they are their weakest point in comparison to the Firestick or Fire TV.
I'm not a big fan of the Roku OS either, but as Sky own part of the company, there's no chance of them leaving the platform.
Has anyone else noticed that there's a fps issue with the GOLD stream? I'm getting 30fps on a Now TV Smart Box. When I use a Chromecast, it's the normal 25fps.
