Possible late schedule addition...

The F1 event in London is likely to be televised on Wednesday although this is not confirmed. Sky Sports 1/F1 have a filter called F1 Archive Race from 6pm-9pm which is likely to change to the F1 London Event based on this tweet.

EDIT: Now confirmed:

Streaming on F1.com, Youtube.com/F1 and Sky Sports F1/Sky Sports 1.

The British Grand Prix is under threat. Silverstone activated a break clause because they're losing money on it.

Remember Donington Park signed a deal about 10 years ago for the British Grand Prix and it fell through. We've been here before and it generally works out ok.

The bigger issue is how the British Grand Prix still falls in the same weekend as the Wimbledon finals? I thought moving Wimbledon one week later was meant to sort this issue out?

I think the biggest threat for Silverstone is the desire of a street race in London.

Probably should have an F1 thread, anyway in minor F1 broadcasting news, Louise Goodman is to fill in for Lee McKenzie on Channel 4 as Lee is working for the BBC at Wimbledon.

It's actually because Lee McKenzie is part of Channel 4 team covering the World Para Athletics Championships from the London Stadium, she said on twitter she finished with Wimbledon yesterday.

First F1 appearance for Louise Goodman since the 2008 Brazilian GP. Of course these days, she's doing BTCC for ITV.

Well, sort of. I've seen her in the background of Martin's pit walk on a couple of occasions, when she was doing some work for FOM TV circut screen feed.

By the way - that F1 Live event from a television point of view, proved that all the technical brains and kit with FOM was safely in Northamptonshire.
It was dire. Somehow Sky Sports spent the first minute on a totally different sound channel to the picture.

Pictures were very blocky - mostly when switching to the jib in the broadcast compound in Trafalgar Square. As though that was using a 4G signal - as was at least one camera out on the 'track' in Whitehall. So, clearly not every camera was being RF'ed to the OBU - despite every camera being able to be in line of sight to the OBU compound.

Billed as 'live', or as our American friends would put on the credits 'portions recorded'.
You'd expect it at some points in a three hour live ob - but at least make it less obvious than to have Raquel Holmes stand next to Jake Humphrey in one shot on the stage, then cut to a single shot of her at the side of the stage, about 4 meters from where she was standing with Jake to introduce a musical act - all the space of a camera cut.

But nice to have Jake, Martin Brundle and David Couthard back together again in the same three shot.
A brief, unexpected but welcome BBC F1 2009-2012 re-union!

News tonight that the US PGA Championship won't be on Sky this year, with the PGA of America indicating that there may be no UK TV deal this time around while they look for a new media deal for the international rights.

Interesting and odd - would be very surprising if a deal isn't done with someone in time.
