TV Sports Markets reported about a month ago that it looked likely the new deal for 2018/19 onwards was going to BT Sport but they also reported a free to air element of 1 match per round and highlights and they believe ITV Sport are going to win these rights. If true ITV have a good portfolio of Rugby with the 6 Nations, the next 2 Rugby World Cups, Women's Rugby World Cup, Under 20 World Cup and European Rugby Champions Cup and will give ITV a presence all season now they have lost the Premiership Rugby to Channel 5. It's a far cry from ITV only covering Rugby every 4 years like they used to and everything else on Sky or the BBC.
EFL Live Rights have gone to market this morning, apparently in one package (Sky current holders). Highlights also being offered too (Channel 5).
Hear that repeated thudding sound?
That's the Derby County chairman repeatedly slamming in forehead on his desk in anger...

Also which is often the case when the tournament is in Northern Ireland, BBC One NI is showing highlights of this weeks Irish Open Golf in Portstewart on the North coast of Northern Ireland. They have a preview show tonight followed by highlights of the 4 days.
It appears that the 2018 Wimbledon Mens Final is set to run simultaneously with the 2018 World Cup Final - Broadcasters said to be very displeased
(TVSM)
Seems weird the Confederations Cup Final kicked off last weekend at 7pm UK time yet the World Cup Final next year is down to kick off at 4pm UK time, according to the Daily Mail the BBC and some other broadcasters worldwide are very unhappy.

Interesting contrast in graphics between RTE and Sky.
RTE using a gold tinted variant on the generic European Tour graphics with "Rolex Series" replay wipes.
Sky using their own graphics with "European Tour" branded replay wipes.
Sports and archive related. Came home, sports channel surfed and saw that BT Sport are showing 'The Big Match Revisited'.
Of note to pres fans - unlike when ITV4 showed them - the full 'River 1' version of the LWT ident, a brief modern day voiceover over the opening title sequence, and proper LWT endcap.
So, hats off to whoever at BT Sport resisted the temptation to meddle too much. The shows have been more or less left alone (memory recalls a lot of the studio chat on ITV4 was hacked out) bar a constant ITV Sport typeface caption top left giving the score.
However, points off for not including the original break stings (straight into the break with a BT Sport Classics caption).
But nice to see football presentation from back in the 70's - when ITV covered run of the mill league games with just 3 cameras and Brian Moore.
On a related note - and just about sport - Front Runner have been showing the legendary Indoor League, not only with the YTV front caps, but with the VT clock used as an ident!
