Looks like Shefali was on the balcony for the weather.

To have the Jury's Inn on her right (our left) she'd need to be facing the opposite way to Jonathan Gibson's PTC in the Tesco report posted previously.

Badly lit opening shot, however Nick Owen did acknowledge it was a temporary studio.

They never used to worry about them being shown (in particular some CIN Opts had them in the background) - when they did a programme for all the English Regions (Inside Out: Troubled Waters) they were also seen then.

The biggest issue is glare and reflection from within the BBC offices themselves, which is why in 2010 and 2012 they had a mesh blind which was opaque enough to see out of but not reflect the crew. Wonder where that's gone?

EDIT: I see the mesh blind in my above capture.

The empty, darkened, office behind the sports guy looked particularly poor on the 6.30. The shot of the second position above is a lot better.

On the background, surely they can rack the cameras to have sufficient depth of field to blur those businesses a bit? P

Today's lunchtime bulletin with Amy in the studio and Shefali on the balcony again.

I quite like the balcony, I wish they'd use it for the weather more and not just while they have this temporary studio.

I am surprised we haven't seen anyone turn up waving in the background as yet. It happened recently when Marr was broadcast from the Mailbox on a Sunday morning.

Shall I walk home that way tomorrow and give you all a wave around 6:30? Laughing

Some old rubbish propped up just on the right of the frame is a nice touch!

That's not a very nice thing to say about Shefali... Oh I see it now (I didn't spot it earlier!)
